210.70 A 2 a States that you must have a light in a hallway. In our office there seems to be a problem deciding what constitutes a hallway. Can anyone help with a definition?

Good question. NEC doesn't give a def. for that.
210.52(H) only tells us the definition of hall LENGTH, and states that you need a receptacle for hallways of 10 feet or more:

"the hall length is considered the length along the centerline of the hall without passing through a door."

First I would check the Florida Building Code and see if it gives a definition. I can try to do that tomorrow if you have not already. If there is no definition in FBC, I would go with Webster:

Pronunciation: 'hol-"wA
Function: noun
Date: 1876
1 : an entrance hall
2 : CORRIDOR

I don't know if that helps too much, but it may be all that we have. If you could describe the situation a little more I may be able to give a better answer.

Good question, though.

Good News! I checked the Florida Building Code, which DOES have a definition for CORRIDOR:

CORRIDOR: A passageway into which compartments or rooms open and which is enclosed by partitions, other than partial partitions, and/or walls and a ceiling or a floor/roof deck above.
