The May meeting of the Florida Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President David Engelhart. The Treasurer’s Report and Secretary’s Report were approved by the membership. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a report on recent legislative changes and announced the dates and agendas of future meetings.
Tommy Lasprogato gave a report on the 2011 Florida Chapter Meeting held earlier this month in West Palm Beach. An update was also provided on the status o the 2013 Chapter Meeting to be hosted by our Division. Bennett Rosenberger of the ECF handed out a flyer for the 2011 Vendor Table Top event to be held at the TCAA center in Fort Myers. Paul Chimene of FPL notified the members present that FPL currently has 100+ job openings in the state of Florida.
In old business, President Engelhart clarified a few of his statements regarding equipotential bonding and electrolysis. A brief discussion followed. In new business, Robert Romano questions the need for protecting NM cable where exposed in mechanical closets. A brief discussion followed.
In new business, Jamie Johnson distributed a “scope of work” declaration to be submitted with a solar PV permit application. A brief discussion followed. Jim Johnson asked if anyone had an update on the aluminum wiring mitigation issue. A brief discussion followed.
This month’s presentation was given by Bryan Holland on Article 450 – Transformers. Handouts and a power-point presentation were provided.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on June 22, 2011 with the
Building Officials Association of Florida Florida Gulf Coast Chapter.
