Regular Meeting: (August 2011)

The August meeting of the Florida Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President David Engelhart. The Treasurer’s Report and Secretary’s Report were approved by the membership. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a report on the 2010 FBC and announced the dates and agendas of future meetings & educational opportunities.

Mark Deegan and Gregg Brown gave an update on the 2013 Chapter Seminar. The committee will be reviewing a facility to host the event in Cape Coral. A discussion was raised regarding FPL electronic metering & live, online monitoring.

Paul Chimene of FPL brought in some diagnostics & troubleshooting metering used by FPL technicians. Mike Looney brought in a receptacle found in a home built in the 1920’s. Bryan Holland brought in an Edison Phonograph Record from 1915 & an Edison Diamond Disk Record from 1935.

This month’s presentation was given by Bryan Holland on Article 430 & 440 of the NEC. A PowerPoint presentation and handouts were provided. A question and answer session followed the presentation.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on September 21, 2011.
