I'm going to humbly request again that we go back to using ONE forum for NEC discussion. In my opinion, the discussions that we have here are about topic, not necessarily what code cycle. For instance, if we talk about "disconnects" or whatever, there is no reason to place that into either 2005 NEC, 2008 NEC, 2011 NEC. This forum was better and easier to follow, without splitting up into different code cycles (in my opinion).

So I vote for that. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I would second that motion. Ruben can handle this in short order...

Absolutely. Let's stick with the official Florida adopted version.

I agree. There is not much traffic here and it is easier to have one NEC topic.

I have put in a request to Ruben to make the change. I renamed the Forum title to NEC CODE FORUM. I do not know how to merge the other subforums into the one parent forum...

Okay it is done and it will never be undone. At least by me.
Unless somebody pays me for a couple of hundred hours.
You know we had a poll on this a while back.

Also renaming the forum does hurt the site with google searches and results in broken and or duplicate search result links.
To late to do anything now since Google has already started to re-index the site with the new forum name.

Just FYI,
I don't have any heartburn over deleting the forums.
But I do have a item with hosing up Google.
I wish you guys would of asked me before making changes.
But we will have to live with it now.

Sorry Ruben. I didn't realize that would occur. I will be sure to never make forum changes without your consultation first.

My bad...

In the old days it did not matter.
With all the search bots today it does,
Since this board has been around a long time I have submitted to most all of them so they visit on a regular basis. So when people search the internet about a item they will find us.
The issue becomes that now there are many of them and they are here most all the time.
So changing a name to a forum changes the url. So they may find two links one that is broken and one that works.
Or the search bot may not have found to new link yet so they see only the broken one.
I can deal with moving all the posts I can submit to the search engines again with a site map of the posts so they will start over.

Thanks. I suggested it but I really didn't think it would happen. But I'm thankful it did. It is really a lot easier to follow now.
