The October meeting of the Florida Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President David Engelhart. The Treasurer’s Report was approved by the membership. The Modified Secretary’s Report was approved by the membership. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a report on the Annual Seminar, the 2010 FBC, & the ECF Manasota Chapter.

An announcement was made to open nominations for next year’s Officers. All nominees must be made by the November Meeting. A vote will be conducted at the December Meeting & the new Officers will be installed at the January Meeting.

Bill Pancake reminded the attendees that proposals for the 2014 NEC are due on November 4th. David Engelhart made a proposal to clarify the installation of ground rods when installed at angles off vertical orientation. A brief discussion followed. Tommy Lasprogato announced that the Executive Board has decided to select the Resort at Marina Village as the site for the 2013 Chapter Meeting & Seminar. More details will be provided at future meetings. Bennett Rosenberger reported the Edison Chapter of the ECF is holding a golf tournament this weekend.

This month’s presentation was given by Bryan Holland on the Electrical Provisions of the Florida Accessibility Code & Florida Coastal & Floodplain Construction Code. A PowerPoint presentation and handouts were provided. A question and answer session followed the presentation.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on November 16 with the Building Officials Association of Florida Gulf Coast Chapter.
