Regular Meeting: (December 2011)

The December Meeting of the Florida Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President David Engelhart. The Secretary’s & Treasurer’s Reports were approved by the membership. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a review of the 2011 meetings & events and reported on 2012 plans & goals for the Division.

In new business, Robert Romano opened a discussion on legislative & Florida Building Commission changes & decisions that affect the electrical industry & how the IAEI and electrical professionals need to become involved and be aware of current and potential regulations that affect the electrical industry not found in the National Electrical Code. A lengthy discussion followed.

Following new business, President David Engelhart called for 2012 officer elections. On the ballot was Gregg Brown for President, Bryan Holland for 1st Vice President, Rikki Ball for 2nd Vice President, Mike Looney for Treasurer, & Bryan Holland for Secretary. A motion was made to accept the nominees as listed with all members voting in affirmation of the motion. The new officers will be installed during the January 18th Meeting.

This month’s presentation was given by Jim Hunter of Hayward Pool Products. Mr. Hunter’s presentation & handouts covered new low-voltage pool lighting and NEC requirements. A question & answer session followed.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on January 18, 2012.
