The January Meeting of the Florida Gulf Coast Division was called to order by Vice President Gregg Brown. The Secretary’s & Treasurer’s Reports were approved by the membership. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a report on upcoming dates to remember & the January BOD Meeting.
The Installation of Officers commenced. Past President Tommy Lasprogato performed the induction ceremony. After swearing in of the new officers, President Gregg Brown retook the podium and charge of the meeting.
Tommy Lasprogato gave a report on the January BOD meeting and made a request for the Division to support the Southern Section – George Flach Scholarship, Suncoast Division – Julian Burnside Scholarship, and International Office – Capital Improvement Plan with a donation of $100 to each. Tommy also gave an update on the 2013 Chapter Meeting contract & meeting arrangements. Bennett Rosenberger announced an ECF meeting in Fort Myers on January 31st. Wes Colley announced a new time and date for the ECF - Tampa Chapter Meetings. Bill Nally gave a report on a new product that incorporates a receptacle outlet and USB port in one device.
In new business, Tommy Lasprogato opened a discussion on reports of fires occurring due to electronic range equipment turning on due to EMI interference from microwave ovens. Gregg Brown mentioned that wireless metering may also possibly be responsible for EMI interference & radiation.
This month’s presentation was given by Bryan Holland on Articles 720, 725, & 760 of the NEC. A handout & PowerPoint presentation was provided.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on February 15, 2012.
